Sabora stands on open grassland in the Singita Grumeti Reserve, styled after a 1920s expedition camp and furnished with antiques. The nine tents are air-conditioned, with four-poster beds, private decks and kitchenettes. Facilities include a swimming pool, spa, gym and tennis court. Activities are twice-daily game drives in open 4x4s with off-road driving permitted inside the private reserve, walking safaris, night drives, stargazing, sundowners and community visits; balloon flights cost extra. The camp sits on the migration route through the Grumeti concession, which the herds usually cross between May and July, but the reserve also holds substantial resident plains game year-round.

What sets it apart

It is a tented camp pitched on open plains rather than in riverine bush, with air conditioning under canvas — an unusual combination in the Serengeti.

Who it suits

What it costs

No rate is published on the property's own site. Third-party reseller range only, not an official published rate: "Low season: USD 2,210–2,355; High season: USD 3,220–3,430 per person per night sharing" per https://www.serengeti.com/singita-sabora-tented-camp.php, as listed September 2026.

A reseller's range tells you the bracket, not the price you would pay. We show it because it is the only public figure that exists, and we label it rather than present it as the property's own.

About the photographs

The pictures on this page are stock photographs of African bush and desert country, chosen to suggest the kind of landscape you find around the Serengeti, Tanzania. They are not photographs of this property, and we cannot verify where any of them was taken — a stock library records the photographer, not the place. We use them rather than borrow the property's own marketing images, which would imply we had been there. For pictures of the rooms, see the property's own site.
