Sasakwa stands on a hilltop in the Singita Grumeti Reserve, a roughly 350,000-acre private concession on the western side of the Serengeti ecosystem, about ten minutes from Sasakwa airstrip. The cottages are built in an Edwardian manor style with parquet floors, fireplaces, dressing rooms and private plunge pools, and open onto verandas facing the plains below. Two daily game drives and guided bush walks are included; balloon flights, horse riding, spa treatments, tennis, stargazing and community visits are arranged separately. Because the reserve is private, off-road driving is permitted. The reserve's anti-poaching operation can be visited. The migration passes through the concession, typically between May and July.

What it costs

No rate is published on the property's own site. Third-party reseller range only, not an official published rate: "Peak: USD $3,525; Standard: USD $2,550 per person per night" per https://www.serengeti.com/singita-sasakwa-lodge.php, as listed September 2026. Singita's own site does not display rates on the lodge page.

A reseller's range tells you the bracket, not the price you would pay. We show it because it is the only public figure that exists, and we label it rather than present it as the property's own.

About the photographs

The pictures on this page are stock photographs of African bush and desert country, chosen to suggest the kind of landscape you find around the Serengeti, Tanzania. They are not photographs of this property, and we cannot verify where any of them was taken — a stock library records the photographer, not the place. We use them rather than borrow the property's own marketing images, which would imply we had been there. For pictures of the rooms, see the property's own site.
