Dolomite sits on a dolomite koppie in the western section of Etosha, an area closed to general tourism until the camp opened. Twenty chalets are strung along the ridge and linked by walkways, with the restaurant, bar, lounge and swimming pool at the high point. The western sector has a different feel from the main pan circuit: more waterholes, more hills, fewer vehicles, and species such as black-faced impala and Hartmann's mountain zebra that are scarcer further east. Black and white rhino use the nearby Klippan waterhole. Namibia Wildlife Resorts runs guided morning, afternoon and night drives, including trips into areas not open to self-drive visitors.

What sets it apart
It is the only camp in Etosha's western sector, which was closed to tourists before it opened, and the only one built along a hilltop ridge.
Who it suits
Quiet western Etosha; hill and waterhole scenery; guided access to restricted areas.

About the photographs
The pictures on this page are stock photographs of African bush and desert country, chosen to suggest the kind of landscape you find around the Etosha country of northern Namibia. They are not photographs of this property, and we cannot verify where any of them was taken — a stock library records the photographer, not the place. We use them rather than borrow the property's own marketing images, which would imply we had been there. For pictures of the rooms, see the property's own site.
