Khwai Leadwood is built along the bank of the Khwai River, which forms the boundary between Moremi Game Reserve and the Khwai Community Concession. Six tented suites plus family and honeymoon suites sit under riverine trees, each solar-powered with a private viewing deck. Guests drive in Moremi by day and use the community concession for night drives and walking safaris, which the reserve does not allow; mokoro trips run on the Khwai River, and scenic flights, birding and village visits are offered. The Ngwana Club provides activities for younger guests. Elephant, hippo and lion are drawn to the river frontage. Operated by African Bush Camps.

What sets it apart
River frontage directly opposite Moremi, with community-concession rules that permit the night drives and walks banned inside the reserve.
Who it suits
Families; night drives and walking; elephant at close range.

About the photographs
The pictures on this page are stock photographs of African bush and desert country, chosen to suggest the kind of landscape you find around the Khwai area of northern Botswana. They are not photographs of this property, and we cannot verify where any of them was taken — a stock library records the photographer, not the place. We use them rather than borrow the property's own marketing images, which would imply we had been there. For pictures of the rooms, see the property's own site.
