lodge 11 chalets, maximum 22 guests, per the operator. The two independent listings describe the suites but give no total.

Little Kulala is the smaller of the two Wilderness lodges on the 27,000-hectare private Kulala Wilderness Reserve, which borders Namib-Naukluft National Park and has its own gate giving early access towards Sossusvlei. Each suite has a private plunge pool and a rooftop "star bed" platform for sleeping outside. Activities are guided trips to the Sossusvlei and Deadvlei pans, dune walks and climbs, nature drives, quad biking, e-bike rides, hikes in Sesriem Canyon, stargazing and — at extra cost — hot-air balloon flights from near Sesriem, about 45 minutes away. Wildlife is sparse and desert-adapted: oryx, springbok, ostrich and occasional brown hyena rather than big-game concentrations.

What sets it apart

Every suite has both a private plunge pool and a rooftop sleep-out bed, which its sister lodge on the same reserve does not.

Who it suits

Sossusvlei dunes; honeymoons; stargazing and sleep-outs.

What it costs

Little Kulala publishes its own rates. Published on the official site: "June-October 2026: $1,653" per person per night fully inclusive, per https://www.wildernessdestinations.com/africa/namibia/sossusvlei/little-kulala, as listed September 2026.

Rates move by season and are almost always quoted per person per night sharing, so read the property's own page before you budget.

About the photographs

The pictures on this page are stock photographs of African bush and desert country, chosen to suggest the kind of landscape you find around the Namib, Namibia. They are not photographs of this property, and we cannot verify where any of them was taken — a stock library records the photographer, not the place. We use them rather than borrow the property's own marketing images, which would imply we had been there. For pictures of the rooms, see the property's own site.
