Namiri Plains sits on the open grasslands of the eastern Serengeti, about two hours by road from Seronera airstrip, which keeps it well away from the park's busiest circuits. Accommodation is eleven canvas-and-glass tented suites raised off the ground, one of them a family unit. The surrounding short-grass plains are known for big cats, and the camp was the first to operate in this part of the park. Guests can join a resident cheetah researcher on request, arranged in advance. Game drives are the main activity, across largely open country.
