tented camp 15 tents, including 2 family tents and 1 honeymoon tent (Asilia). Chalo Africa adds two separate "Retreats" opened in 2023; Tanzania Odyssey also states 15.

Sayari sits in the far north of the Serengeti, about 20 minutes from Kogatende airstrip, and is described by its operator as the closest permanent camp to the Mara River. The 15 tents are raised on wooden platforms with mahogany floors, king or twin beds, en-suite bathrooms with bathtubs, and wraparound verandas. Communal areas include two lounge and dining areas, a rim-flow pool, a spa, a library on the Kuria people and a solar-powered micro-brewery. Guests take twice-daily open-vehicle game drives, walking safaris of roughly 1.5 to 2 hours between June and January, and optional balloon flights. The camp is open year-round; July to October covers the Mara River crossings.

What sets it apart

About the photographs

The pictures on this page are stock photographs of African bush and desert country, chosen to suggest the kind of landscape you find around the Serengeti, Tanzania. They are not photographs of this property, and we cannot verify where any of them was taken — a stock library records the photographer, not the place. We use them rather than borrow the property's own marketing images, which would imply we had been there. For pictures of the rooms, see the property's own site.
