Oliver's Camp

tented camp unverified. Asilia's own page states 15 tents split between two wings of five and ten, including two family tents and a honeymoon tent. Go2Africa states "only 10 tents available". The likely explanation is an expansion that the third-party listing has not caught up with, but I could not confirm that, so the count is in dispute.

Oliver's Camp lies in the south-east of Tarangire National Park beside the Silale Swamps, roughly three hours south of the main park gate — an area that sees far fewer vehicles than the northern river circuit. The tents are arranged in two separate wings. The camp holds a walking concession and runs guided walking safaris from 1 June to 15 February, along with night game drives, both of which are unusual inside a Tanzanian national park. Open-vehicle game drives run twice daily and balloon flights are available at sunrise. The camp closes from mid-March to mid-May. Dry-season elephant concentrations around the swamps are the main draw.

What it costs

Oliver's Camp publishes its own rates. Published on the official site: "Secret Season $870–$1,050; High Season $1,390–$1,480 per person per night", per https://www.asiliaafrica.com/camps-lodges/olivers-camp/, as listed September 2026.

Rates move by season and are almost always quoted per person per night sharing, so read the property's own page before you budget.

About the photographs

The pictures on this page are stock photographs of African bush and desert country, chosen to suggest the kind of landscape you find around the Tarangire country of northern Tanzania. They are not photographs of this property, and we cannot verify where any of them was taken — a stock library records the photographer, not the place. We use them rather than borrow the property's own marketing images, which would imply we had been there. For pictures of the rooms, see the property's own site.
