Ongava Lodge sits on a rocky ridge in the Ondundozonanandana hills on the private Ongava reserve, which shares a boundary with Etosha. Its 14 chalets are built of rock and thatch, are air-conditioned and en-suite, and the central dining area overlooks a waterhole used by rhino and other game. The reserve holds both black and white rhino, and because it is private it permits activities Etosha does not: night drives, guided walking safaris and rhino tracking on foot. Guests also take day drives into Etosha around Okaukuejo. There is a swimming pool, sundowner decks, a photographic hide, a spa and a Discovery Centre.

It is the largest of the four Ongava camps and the one set highest, on a ridge rather than beside the plains.
