Onkoshi is built on a peninsula on the north-eastern rim of the Etosha Pan, on a section of the park closed to self-drive traffic; guests are transferred in from Namutoni. Fifteen free-standing chalets stand on elevated wooden decks facing the pan, and the camp has a restaurant and bar, a swimming pool and a shop. The view is of the pan surface itself rather than of bush, and in years when the pan floods it draws flamingos and pelicans. Game viewing is by guided morning, afternoon and night drive only. The camp is 513 km from Windhoek. It is the smallest of the Namibia Wildlife Resorts properties inside Etosha.
What sets it apart
It is the only accommodation on the pan rim itself, in a part of the park that private vehicles cannot reach.
