tented camp 9 — "7 classic safari tents and 2 family suites" (operator); Go2Africa independently gives nine tents

Rekero Camp is inside the Maasai Mara National Reserve itself rather than a surrounding conservancy, on the Talek River about 150 metres from a crossing point used by wildebeest during the migration months of July to October. It has seven classic safari tents and two family suites, all en-suite, with a deck over the river. Power is fully solar with a generator backup, and Wi-Fi and laundry are included. Game drives run twice daily in modified 4x4s; balloon flights are available. Ol Kiombo airstrip is about 20 minutes away. Because it is on reserve land, night drives and off-road driving are not permitted.

What sets it apart

Its position 150 metres from a Talek River crossing point puts migration crossings within walking distance of the camp deck, which conservancy camps outside the reserve cannot offer.

Who it suits

River crossings in migration season; in-reserve location; couples and families.

What it costs

Rekero Camp publishes its own rates. Published on the official site: "Secret Season: US$910/person/night" and "High Season: US$1,450/person/night", per https://www.asiliaafrica.com/camps-lodges/rekero-camp/, as listed September 2026.

Rates move by season and are almost always quoted per person per night sharing, so read the property's own page before you budget.

About the photographs

The pictures on this page are stock photographs of African bush and desert country, chosen to suggest the kind of landscape you find around the Greater Maasai Mara, Kenya. They are not photographs of this property, and we cannot verify where any of them was taken — a stock library records the photographer, not the place. We use them rather than borrow the property's own marketing images, which would imply we had been there. For pictures of the rooms, see the property's own site.
