Tortilis Camp occupies a private conservancy bordering Amboseli National Park, which means guests can drive and walk on conservancy land as well as game-drive inside the park. Tents have king or twin beds and en-suite bathrooms; a family tent and a two-bedroom Private House stand apart from the main camp on a hill and share a pool. Game drives, guided walks with Maasai guides, sundowners and bush meals all take place both in the park and on the conservancy. Elewana lists visits to the Amboseli Elephant Research Centre, whose long-running study of the park's elephants is the reason Amboseli's herds are individually known. The camp runs on solar power.

What sets it apart

Holding its own conservancy next to the park lets it offer walking and off-road driving that are prohibited inside Amboseli National Park itself.

Who it suits

Kilimanjaro views; elephant viewing; walking outside the park.

What it costs

No rate is published on the property's own site. Third-party reseller range only, not an official published rate: "£395-£710 per person sharing" per https://www.go2africa.com/accommodation/tortilis-camp, as listed September 2026.

A reseller's range tells you the bracket, not the price you would pay. We show it because it is the only public figure that exists, and we label it rather than present it as the property's own.

About the photographs

The pictures on this page are stock photographs of African bush and desert country, chosen to suggest the kind of landscape you find around the Amboseli basin below Kilimanjaro, Kenya. They are not photographs of this property, and we cannot verify where any of them was taken — a stock library records the photographer, not the place. We use them rather than borrow the property's own marketing images, which would imply we had been there. For pictures of the rooms, see the property's own site.
