Kanana lies on the Xudum River in a private concession in the south-western Delta, with both dry ground for driving and permanent channels for boats. Seven twin or double tents and a two-bedroom family tent stand on raised decks with en-suite bathrooms and verandas. The camp runs morning and afternoon drives, night drives with spotlights, armed walking safaris, mokoro and motorboat excursions, and fishing from March to December. Its particular asset is motorboat access to one of southern Africa's largest heronries, used by breeding storks, herons and egrets in season. An elevated sleep-out deck is available April to November. Operated by Ker & Downey Botswana; the camp is solar-powered.
