tented camp 15 units — 12 view rooms in three grades, one luxury room, and two suites (a mini/rock suite and a mountain suite)

Mowani sits among large granite boulders in the Uibasen-Twyfelfontein Community Conservancy in southern Damaraland, between the dry Ugab and Huab riverbeds and about 15 km north of Twyfelfontein. Accommodation is dome-shaped thatched tented chalets on raised wooden platforms tucked between the rocks, each with a private terrace; room grades differ mainly by outlook, and there is a separate mountain suite with its own lounge and dining area. The camp is a base for visiting the Twyfelfontein rock engravings and for nature drives in search of desert-adapted elephant along the seasonal riverbeds.

About the photographs

The pictures on this page are stock photographs of African bush and desert country, chosen to suggest the kind of landscape you find around Damaraland, Namibia. They are not photographs of this property, and we cannot verify where any of them was taken — a stock library records the photographer, not the place. We use them rather than borrow the property's own marketing images, which would imply we had been there. For pictures of the rooms, and of the view they actually look out on, see the property's own site.
