Roving Bushtops is a mobile camp that operates from two sites in the Serengeti across the year — Kogatende in the north, reached from Kogatende airstrip, and Kusini in the south, reached from the Serengeti South airstrip. Its eight suites are built into purpose-designed fold-away mobile units the operator calls "Rovers", which open out into a tent with an en-suite bathroom and deck; some decks carry hot tubs. Guests take private game drives in open vehicles, bush walks, private bush breakfasts and sundowners, with balloon flights at extra cost. The camp is closed in April, May and part of November. It shares its 6x6 vehicle and school-visit programme with Serengeti Bushtops.

What sets it apart

The engineered fold-out "Rover" units let a genuinely mobile camp carry hot tubs and plumbed bathrooms, which conventional mobile camps cannot.

Who it suits

What it costs

No rate is published on the property's own site. Third-party reseller range only, not an official published rate: "January-March and June-October: $2,530 USD per person/night; December 21-31: $2,700" per https://www.serengeti.com/roving-bushtops.php, as listed September 2026. The operator's own page does not publish rates.

A reseller's range tells you the bracket, not the price you would pay. We show it because it is the only public figure that exists, and we label it rather than present it as the property's own.

About the photographs

The pictures on this page are stock photographs of African bush and desert country, chosen to suggest the kind of landscape you find around the Serengeti, Tanzania. They are not photographs of this property, and we cannot verify where any of them was taken — a stock library records the photographer, not the place. We use them rather than borrow the property's own marketing images, which would imply we had been there. For pictures of the rooms, see the property's own site.
