Serra Cafema is a Wilderness camp on the south bank of the Kunene River, the border with Angola, in the Hartmann Valley of the north-western Kaokoveld. Chalets are thatched and raised on wooden platforms above the river, with verandas, hammocks and outdoor showers; the camp has a river bar, a plunge pool and a main area called the ozoganda. It is reachable only by light aircraft. The contrast between a permanently flowing river and the surrounding dune desert defines the place. Activities are nature drives, guided quad biking on the dunes, boating on the Kunene, walking, birding and visits to Himba settlements. Wildlife is sparse — Hartmann's mountain zebra, oryx, springbok, Nile crocodile and river birds.

It is the only camp of its kind on the Kunene River itself, combining a permanent river with dune desert on one property.
